Guidelines for Temple visitation

Dear Devotees,

As all of you know, the State of Illinois has announced a plan to responsibly restart Illinois’ economy. As part of the plan, on May 28, 2020, Illinois department of Public Health released COVID-19 Guidance for Places of Worship and Providers of Religious Services.

With respect to this, SVS Temple management is pleased to open the temple to a limited number of devotees at a time as per the guidelines. The safety of our entire community must be the responsibility of all who wish to participate in community worship services. Please be mindful of the safety and precautions to avoid the spreading of Covid-19 in the reopening process.

To help matters, we sincerely request full cooperation from all of you. Devotees who want to visit the temple must sign-up in advanceand pick a time slot online.

By strictly following this we are ensuring the safety of our priests, staff, volunteers and above all, the devotees.

Devotees are expected to strictly follow these safety precautions:

Please remember that you are entering the temple premises at your own risk. Elderly and immune compromised individuals should avoid crowds for their own safety.

Admission into the temple is through sign-up appointments only. Sorry, walk ins are not allowed at this time.

Devotees must sign-up ONLINEand bring the confirmation to the temple.

If anyone in your family is sick now (or within the last 2 weeks) or having a temperature of more than 99.5 degrees, please do not visit the temple. Please schedule your visit later.

Every person will have temperature checked before entering the temple and will not be permitted if running a temp over 99.5 degrees.

If you are not able to keep your appointment for any reason, please contact us. We will accommodate other devotees eagerly waiting to come in.

Please arrive only 15 mins before your chosen time. If you arrive earlier than 15 minutes before your allotted time, wait inside your car in the parking lot.

Do not bring strollers inside the temple. Please leave them in the car.

Face masks covering the nose and mouth are always required for all devotees while at the temple. A limited number of masks are available for sale at the desk if you forget yours.

No Archana or special puja are available currently. Only darsanam and aarati will be offered at this time. No Teertham, Prasadam or Shatari.

Devotees are not allowed to bring any prasadam, fruits or flowers to the temple.

Strict social distancing of at least 6 feet from others (outside of your family) is required. Please remain in your designated spot until the next space is available.

All members of the same household including children should stay together and avoid contact with others.

No sashtanga namaskaram permitted anywhere in the temple. No singing, chanting or recitation out loud.

Socialization and talking with the priests or others are NOT permitted. No touching or hand shaking with anyone other than your immediate family.

Please limit your entire visit inside the temple to 15 minutes or less, so that more devotees will have an opportunity to pray at the temple.

Limited prepacked food items may be available to pick up as you exit the temple. No dine in facility.

Please try not to touch anything unnecessarily. Use caution when using the bathrooms. We strongly recommend frequent hand washing or using hand sanitizer.

Please expect some delays, as the priests may have to offer some special services to the deities at certain times of the day.

Outside poojas by our priests are still not performed at this time. For Archana, special puja or events at the temple, please contact our office at 630-844-2252

In the coming weeks, as more data and information become available, the management will revisit the gradual re-opening options and take appropriate decisions at appropriate intervals.

Thank you for understanding and cooperating in making this process spiritually rewarding to all.

We request your continued support and financial contributions during this crisis to maintaining the religious services and continuing payments to the priests and staff.

May the blessings of Sri Padmavathi and Alamelu Manga sametha Sri Venkateswara Swami be with you and your family always.
